Why I Love Harry Potter
I've been a Potterhead for the last 17 years. I'd like to share the reasons.
It's like a gift that keeps on giving
As I said, I've been a part of the fandom. AKA Potterhead, for the last 17 years. After the release of the 7th book in 2007, I've put Harry Potter in a drawer inside my brain and locked it. Then. 2016 came along: I watch Harry Potter and the Curesd Child in London in June, I read the screenplay in July, and I watch Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them in November. the Wizarding World just gets bigger and bigger, there's more to know, for some it's hard to keep up, but for me-it's like a gift that keeps on giving.
The Harry Potter series has taught me a lot about the importance of friendship, bravery and about standing up for what's right despite the dificulties.
Being a part of a fandom
The canon may be over, but the Harry Potter fandom is alive and kicking. There's a whole sub-culture of people who write fan-fics and post it online. Yup. Nine years after the release of the last book of the canon, the story still inspires so many of us. For example, right after Donald Trump was elected as President, many forums and groups pointed out how much he reminds them of Lord Voldemort. So yes. We can discuss Harry Potter for decades, and luckily, we have the right forums for that online.
There's plenty more to come
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is set in 1926, and there's a whole new era to explore. There will be not less than five movies in the new spin-off series. After watching FB, I can guarantee there's plenty to look out for, including a new villian, Grindelwald. He was mentioned in the canon a few times, but still, there's so much to unveil
It's just pure fun
No need to complicate. Watching/reading anything HP is pure fun. Just letting my hair down and letting my imagination run wild.
